The BNSF Mojave Sub is the main artery for BNSF traffic heading to and from Northern California. The Mojave Sub spans 63 miles across the barren Mojave Dessert. Besides plenty of Cacti, the Mojave Sub offers a wide variety of traffic to manage, including several locals, and Union Pacific trackage rights trains. The route connects to the UP Mojave at the west end, and connects to the Barstow Terminal on the east end.
